1951 August
Established in Osaka.

1950
Commodity Exchange Act was enacted.

1952 July
The Tokyo Sugar Exchange (TSE) was established trading refined sugar and raw sugar futures contracts.

1952 October
The Tokyo Grain Exchange (TGE) began trading azuki (red beans), domestic soybeans and potato starch futures.

1962 July
Soybean imports were liberalized.

1971 January
Acquired authorization as Futures Commission Merchant at participating exchanges from the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Minister of International Economy Trade and Industry.

1973 April
Began marketing gold bullion upon liberalization of regulations governing gold and gold article imports.

1972 October
The name "US" Soybean futures were changed to "Imported" Soybean futures, which standard grade was non-screened Chinese soybeans.

1982 March
Began trading gold futures on commission upon establishment of the Tokyo Gold Exchange(presently known as the Tokyo Commodity Exchange).

1986 April
Launched on-line trading system at all offices.

1987
Released the first commodity fund in Japan (NI partners fund)

1988 November
Opened computer center.

1984 March
TGE launched the U.S. Soybean futures contract.

1984 November
The Tokyo Commodity Exchange was established, following the merger of Tokyo Textile Exchange, Tokyo Rubber Exchange and Tokyo Gold Exchange.

1989
Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange Inc.(TIFFE) was established.

1990 April
Established Okato Shoji Singapore Pte. Ltd.

1990 October
Started the gold reserve fund, "Turtle Plan".

1991 March
Established Okato Investment Management Co., Ltd.

1991 April
Opened New York Representative office.

1993 March
Established Okato International (U.S.A.), Inc.

1995 October
Registered shares on the over-the-counter market.

1996 September
Established Okato Joho Service Co., Ltd.

1996 October
Started commodity sales using on-line "P.O.S.T" system.

1997 April
Subsidized Suzukawa Sho-ten (presently known as Sun Capital Management Co., Ltd.).

1999 March
Started Internet trade of commodity futures, "Expert".

1992 April
Corn futures were launched on TGE.

1992 May
TSE began Options on Raw Sugar futures.

1992 August
Palladium futures were launched on TOCOM.

1992 December
The trading unit for Raw Sugar futures from the July 1994 contract month and onwards were amended from 10 metric tons to 20 metric tons.

1993 October
TGE and TSE were merged as TGE to centralize trading and provide market participants.

1996 September
Options on Corn futures began in TGE.

1996 October
Central Japan Commodity Exchange was established to trade agricultural products (imported soybeans and red beans) etc.

1997 April
Aluminum futures were launched on TOCOM

1998 Ocotober
The Yokohama Commodity Exchange was established , following the merger of the Yokohama Raw Silk Exchange and the Maebashi Dried Cocoon Exchange.

1998 May
Kanmon Commodity Exchange changed its name Fukuoka Futures Exchange.

1998 July
Gasoline and Kerosene were launched on TOCOM.

2002 May
Launched the foreign exchange margin trade "Forex24".

2003 October
Introduced ISV's.

2004 December
Entered into Securities Broking Business.

2005 April
Corporate separation in line with transition to holding company structre.
Okato Business Service Co., Ltd. was newy established as the administration division for Okato Holdings, Inc. (Okato Shoji Co., Ltd. stands for business divisions.)

2005 June
Established online trading company, OKTCUBIC, Inc.

2001 April
The Financial Futures Trading Law was amended.

2001 April
Discretionary trading account was permitted.

2001 September
Crude oil was launched on TOCOM.

2003 September
Gas oil was launched on TOCOM.
